From approved design to industrial scale

Industrialisation

The next commercial steps, the supply chain and automated panel manufacturing, the business model, and why a partner should enter now.

Commercialization – next steps

Illustration of a future LH₂ tanker concept at sea

With Approval in Principle granted by DNV, the next steps take CryoVac from an approved design to a delivered vessel.

  1. 1Consortium · immediate next step

    • Establish a consortium to identify LH2 trades and associated requirements
    • Develop an LH2 design applying the CryoVac containment solution
  2. 2Pre-design study · on consortium formation

    • Develop a 45,000 m³ CryoVac LH2 tanker
    • Cargo specifics (density / energy density)
    • Zero-emission power and propulsion
    • Class approval route
  3. 3Final design and construction · after pre-design and financing

Indicative sequence. Timing follows consortium formation and financing rather than fixed calendar dates.

Supply chain

CryoPan

  • The individual panels will be manufactured on a highly automated production line
  • Ensuring product quality; reduced costs
  • The plant can be built mobile, so it may be moved between projects (large tanks)
  • Achieving a high degree of flexibility
  • Reducing risks represented by international logistics

Materials

  • Steel / aluminum supply — global suppliers, highly standardized
  • Fiberboard — suppliers identified, additional suppliers to be identified
  • Product unique for CryoPan — potentially patentable
  • Valves and fittings for cryogenic applications
  • Instrumentation for cryogenic applications

ISO

  • Panels will be manufactured separately from the larger tanks
  • Base ISO frame sourced from supplier

Fully automated manufacturing

Initial production can utilize qualified external manufacturing capacity, with dedicated in-house capacity introduced as volumes scale.

Business model – where value could be captured

If the technology is commercialised, these are the places CryoVac could earn.

  1. LicenceCryoVac
  2. EngineeringCryoVac
  3. Panel supplyCryoVac
  4. ConstructionYard
  5. SupervisionCryoVac

Potential value-capture elements

  • Technology & IP

The patented panel architecture as the licensable core.

  • Licensing

Use of the technology in a containment system.

  • Engineering

    Design of the containment arrangement.

  • CryoPan supply

Supply of the panel system into the build.

  • Supervision

    Technical support during installation.

  • Broader participation

Wider production scope as volume develops.

The operating and commercial model will be developed with the right partner.

Qualified external manufacturing first, then dedicated automated capacity when volume justifies it.
A technology and engineering company. Not a tank builder or shipyard.

From technology development to industrial scale

Foundational technology value has been created. Full qualification and industrial deployment have not.

Technology maturity

≈ TRL 4–5

Progressed through engineering development and analysis, supported by DNV Approval in Principle.

Management’s current assessment; not independently certified.

Potential valueDirection only. No value scale is implied.

  1. Partner enters here

    01

    Detailed engineering

Concept becomes a defined, buildable containment design.

  2. 02

    Qualification & Class

Moves from Approval in Principle towards Class acceptance.

  3. 03

    Prototype & demonstration

    Physical evidence at representative scale.

  4. 04

    Manufacturing readiness

Panel supply capable of serving a shipbuilding programme.

  5. 05

    First commercial deployment

    A reference installation in service.

  6. 06

    Market conversion

Owner and yard interest becomes contracted projects.

Why a partner should enter now

Foundational technology value exists.

The right partner can now help convert it into qualified, industrial and commercial value.

In place

  • Patented panel architecture, six jurisdictions
  • DNV Approval in Principle
  • Executed thermal engineering basis
  • Prismatic and spherical application architecture
  • Experienced inventor and developer base
  • Clear control and simple governance

The partner brings

  • Capital for the next development phase
  • Industrial manufacturing and build capacity
  • Weight to carry qualification and Class
  • Access to owners, yards and projects

Entry before full qualification and industrial deployment.

Pre-revenue today. Further value creation requires the right financial and/or industrial platform.

Entry after the foundational technology value has been created, before full qualification and industrial deployment.
